Wednesday 1st April – Homemade Greek Meatballs with Broken Hummus!
INGREDIENTS LIST
This is fun, we’re going to make little Greek meatballs with a kid-easy hummus! The meatballs known by the Greeks as Keftedes are inspired from my book Orexi!
Serves 4
What you need:
- 2 mixing bowls
- 1 potato masher
- Frying pan
- Slotted spoon
- Fork
Ingredients Greek Meatballs:
- 500g (approx) mince meat; (ideally lamb or pork, but beef or even vegan mince will work)
- 1/2 onion, grated / finely diced
- Herbs, parsley, coriander, mint, even dried
- 1 average size white potato, grated
- 1 clove garlic, diced
- LITTLE flour for dusting
- Oil for frying
- Optional – 1 slice bread
- Optional – 1/2 teacup milk
Ingredients Kids Broken Hummus:
- 2 tins of white beans (chickpeas, cannellini beans, butter beans, any, or a mix of white beans)
- Bunch fresh herbs; parsley or coriander or mint
- 1 lemon
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- Olive oil
- Optional – Tahini
This will make 1 per person – so get everyone set up to make it that is having dinner!
