Harpenden Town Mayor’s Fine Dining Night with Theo Michaels (that’s me!)

Well, I felt as if I was mixing with Harpenden royalty one winters night earlier this month. I was honoured to be asked to host the Harpenden Mayor’s charity fundraising dinner for 40 guests.

We had a great night serving a delicious (even if I do say so myself!) five course menu in Park Hall in Harpenden. As is usual with my popup restaurants or large private dining events none of it would have been possible without my brilliant staff, so thank you girls!

I won’t bang on too much about it but here is the press release sent out by the Town Mayor’s office.

Harpenden Town Mayor Brian Ellis Fine Dining Event with Theo Michaels

Town Mayor’s Charity Fine Dining Experience with Theo Michaels

The Town Mayor, Councillor Brian Ellis held a delightful fine dining experience with Theo Michaels in Park Hall on Friday 9 October in aid of his nominated charities ‘The Harpenden Trust’ and ‘Southdown Play Areas Working Group’.

Theo prepared a delicious 5-course meal, starting with amaretto prawns and finalising in a dense chocolate tarte with pecan and honey ice cream and a wild berry coulis. The meals were beautifully presented and certainly displayed the skills of a ‘master chef’.

Aquabatics bubble tubes, kindly provided by a local company, gave a lovely ambience to the evening.

Some superb prizes had been donated for the event, which included a voucher for four to a Saracens match, a four-ball voucher at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club and a golden ticket to the Roald Dahl museum.  And, Theo Michaels most generously offered a voucher for a fine dining experience in 2016, which was auctioned at the end of the evening.

The Town Mayor said ‘Thank you to everyone who supported the event.  It was a great success in several ways as it was a lovely evening, raising funds for two local charities, and also linked in really well with the Harpenden Food and Drink Festival at the end of September, which was such a huge success this year and brought many people into the Town.’

The evening was a great success and will have raised over £1000 to be shared between the two charities.
