Homemade Garlic Bread Baguette

Homemade Garlic Bread Baguette

Homemade garlic bread baguette – you’ll never buy shop-bought again!

My homemade garlic bread baguette is incredibly easy to make but tastes so much better than the stuff you buy in the shops!

We made this while in France, thus it being ‘garlic bread baguette’! My only advice is to get the freshest baguette you can find, and ideally you don’t want a crusty baguette that’s quite dry, grab something a little soft to the touch.

My homemade garlic bread baguette is great as it only takes 5 minutes in the oven to cook and you can make the garlic butter a few days before (actually you could make it a month before and stick it in the freezer)..

How to make homemade garlic bread baguette – recipe

Homemade Garlic Bread Baguette Ingredients:

  • 6 large cloves garlic
  • Pinch salt
  • 150g butter
  • 60ml olive oil
  • 10g fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 baguettes

Homemade Garlic Bread Baguette Method:

  • Pre-heated oven @ 200cFAN
  • First make the homemade garlic butter; crush the garlic to a paste (chop first, pinch of salt then use side of a knife to mash it) and place into a bowl.
  • Finely chop the parsley and add to the garlic.
  • Now add the softened butter, half the olive oil and mash together until you have a smooth garlic butter.
  • Make incisions into the baguette (making sure you don’t cut all the way through) about 2 inches apart and spread a teaspoon of the garlic butter in each slit. Continue until you’ve used up all the garlic butter. Holding the baguette from below so the slits are slightly open drizzle a fine line of olive oil across the top, letting it fall into the slits.
  • Sprinkle a little salt over the whole thing then wrap in foil and bake in pre-heated oven for five minutes and remove.
  • Serve on a plate, ripped, and enjoy – and remember – you’re not kissing anyone after this! 🙂
