I had a great day this weekend on the kitchen demo stage at the St. Albans Food Festival.
I was on stage with Jonny Seabrook who’s a great compere and a thoroughly decent chap as well!
I’ve done a few of the local food festivals and the St. Albans food festival has just grown and grown each year and I must admit this year was the best.
There were tons of fantastic food on sale, lots of artisan producers, hundreds of people and generally a damn good day out. If you haven’t been and you live fairly local get your buts down there next year!
I decided to cook three new recipes out of my soon to be launched new cookbook – Microwave Mug Meals.
Yes, that’s right, there wasn’t a frying pan in sight! The dishes turned out great with plenty of surprise from the audience.
I cooked Eggs Florentine with my reverse engineered Hollandaise sauce (which is spectacular, honestly, it is brilliant!), this was followed by my five minute moussaka complete with bechamel sauce and finally the piece-de-resistance!
My stuffed chicken breast with cream cheese and olives on a bed of cumin and chick pea ragu (all done in a mug in 6 minutes)!
